My mom has smoked for years. At 82 she refuses to stop now. She's has oxygen sats at 70 and has hospice coming to the house. My sister says the machine will blow up the house if she smokes around it. True or false. I want her to go out of this world the way she wants. Is it going to explode or can she enjoy her cigarettes without being blown sky high.

Oxygen is a non-flammable and combustible gas that is under pressure and when conditions exists, like smoking or an open flame a fire can occur or an explosion. I would advise not smoking at all around oxygen. I hope this helps. Have a great week.

Per user manual : Do not smoke, allow others to smoke or have open flames near the concentrator when it is in use.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

The EverFlo Q uses around a maximum of around 350 watts while on the highest setting, which is on the lower end of electricity usage for most home oxygen concentrators. The oxygen purity is around an average of 93%. This concentrator is also very quiet, at just 40 decibels, which is no louder than the hum of your refrigerator. It's also known for producing much less heat than other home oxygen concentrators that have the same oxygen capacity.

Hope it helps.
