Deroyal Composite Dressing Features
- Multi-layered composite wound dressing
- Maintains moist environment with protection from outside containments
- Four-layer construction:
- Layer 1: Protective non-adherent contact layer
- Layer 2: Soft pad for drainage absorption
- Layer 3: Breathable, semi-occlusive polyurethane barrier film
- Layer 4: Conformable adhesive-coated fabric tape
- Prevents drainage strike-through
- Barrier to external contamination
- Minimizes wound trauma
Indications for Deroyal Composite Dressing
- Covaderm wound dressings are indicated for minor abrasions, minor lacerations, and minor scalds and burns
- When under the care or direction of a licensed practitioner they are indicated for:
• Dermal ulcers (e.g., pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, and other secreting lesions)
• Second-degree burns
• Donor sites
• More severe lacerations, cuts, and abrasions
• Other superficial wounds
• Covaderm Plus VAD is also indicated for IV sites, and other tubular sites and incisions
Contraindications
Covaderm wound dressings are contraindicated for:
• Third-degree burns
• Heavily bleeding wounds
• Individuals who are sensitive to or have had an allergic reaction to the dressing or its materials
Uses of Deroyal Composite Dressing
Covaderm wound dressings absorb wound drainage, promote a moist environment helpful to healing, and serve as a barrier against water and bacteria when used as a secondary dressing.
