Chattanooga Primera TENS NMES Unit With HAN Waveform

Authorized Retailer

Chattanooga Primera TENS NMES Unit With HAN Waveform will provide both TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) and NMES (Neuro Muscular Electrical Stimulation) therapies utilizing a HAN style wave form. With the unique HANS TENS waveform, a dense-and-disperse (DD) mode of stimulation uses low frequency stimulation (2 Hz) sequences with high frequency stimulation (15 or 70 Hz). This unique waveform provides the release of opiates to manage pain and muscle spasms.

What to Buy with Chattanooga 77615 Electrotherapy Unit?

How to Use Chattanooga Primera Unit?

  1. Check the polarity of the electrodes.
  2. Be sure the lead wires are securely connected, then position and apply the electrodes.
  3. Insert lead wires into Channel A and/ or Channel B of the Primera.
  4. Insert a 9 Volt alkaline battery into the battery compartment and turn on the Primera by pressing the ON button (please note: electrodes must be in position before activation).
  5. Using the PRG button select the program.
  6. Slowly adjust left and right mA current output with the positive button. This starts the program and user will begin to feel the stimulation. Increase this to tolerance.
  7. The Primera is equipped with a mA Lockout, forty-five seconds after the stimulator is turned “On” the intensity settling will lock.
  8. To make any adjustment to the level of intensity, user must first press the negative first to increase the mA. User may notice some muscle contraction and this is normal.
  9. User can track treatment time in the upper right hand corner of the Primera screen.
  10. At the end of the program duration remove the electrodes and replace the electrode covers.
  11. User can treat every day but no more than as advised and never to a point of fatigue or pain.

How Long Do One Use TENS and NMES?

This depends on the individual patient’s condition, accuracy of electrode placement, stimulation and the characteristics selected, but typically the onset of pain relief starts after 20-30 minutes. Generally TENS is used for longer periods, normally 1 hour 30 minutes per session. With some patients it can be much longer. Before electing longer sessions, consult an experienced licensed health care professional.
