When to use Molnlycke Mepitel One Dressing?

• Mepitel One Contact Layeris designed for a wide range of wounds such as skin tears, skin abrasions, surgical incisions, second degree burns, blistering, lacerations, partial and full thickness grafts, diabetic ulcers, venous and arterial ulcers.
• Mepitel One is also indicated for:
  • Painful wounds
  • Partial thickness burns
  • Traumatic wounds
  • Radiated skin
  • Leg and foot ulcers

How to use Mepitel One Wound Contact Layer Dressing?

Clean the wound area. Ensure the peri-wound skin is dry. Remove the top release film.

Apply Mepitel One to the wound, allowing for at least 2 cm overlap of wounds edges. Larger wounds may require more overlap. Remove second release film during application.

Apply outer absorbent dressing and a retention dressing if needed (such as Tubifast, Tubigrip, etc.)

 

Precautions to take while applying Mepitel One Contact Layer

• The wound should be inspected for signs of infection according to clinical practice
  consult a healthcare professional for the appropriate medical treatment.
• If it is used on Epidermolysis Bullosa patients, employ extra surveillance at dressing changes
  Adhesion level of this dressing is somewhat higher.
• Use on burns treated with meshed grafts and avoid placing unnecessary pressure upon the dressing
• Use after facial resurfacing and avoid placing pressure upon the dressing lift and reposition the dressing at least every second day
• When used on bleeding wounds or wounds with high viscosity exudate, it should be covered with a moist absorbent dressing pad
• When it is used for the fixation of skin grafts, the dressing should not be changed before the fifth day post application

Warnings:

• When it is used on burns treated with meshed grafts or after facial resurfacing, imprints may occur if the product is not used properly
• Mepite One has a higher adhesion level than Mepitel
• When using Mepitel One on Epidermolysis Bullosa patients, use caution and surveillance at dressing changes
• When Mepitel One is used after facial resurfacing, avoid placing unnecessary pressure upon the dressing and lift and reposition the dressing at least every second day. Imprints can occur if the product is not used properly.
