Medline Optilock Non-Adhesive Wound Dressing has a super-absorbent polymer core that absorbs moderate to heavy exudates and locks in drainage even under compression. It allows for gentle removal and protects the skin from maceration. Non-adherent wound contact layer prevents the dressing from sticking to the wound or peri-wound skin. Optilock adjusts absorption to the amount of drainage.

Optilock Non-Adhesive Wound Dressing

Optilock Design Features:

Optilock Design Features

  1. Dispersion Layer: Evenly distributes and then quickly transfers the exudate into the superabsorbent core.
  2. Super Absorbent Core: Optilock Non-Adherent Dressing absorbs large amount of exudate, which is then converted into gel and locked away from the wound.
  3. Blue Protective Backing: Helps protect clothing and sheets.

How Optilock Works?

  • Absorbs - Super absorbent polymer core efficiently absorbs high volumes of exudate. Gently absorbs exudate, even for the most heavily draining wounds
  • Locks - Inside the core, exudate is converted into a gel that is kept firmly away from the wound, even under compression. Gently protects against maceration, including the periwound skin
  • Adjusts - Continually adapts the level of absorption to the amount of wound drainage. Gently provides an optimal moist wound healing environment
  • Protects - Non-adherent wound contact layer prevents the Medline Optilock Dressing from sticking to the wound or periwound skin. Gently releases from the wound during dressing changes

Contraindications:

  • Third-degree burns
  • Known sensitivity to the product itself or its components
  • Do not use on non-exudating or minimally exudating wounds

Recommended Use:

  • All wound depths
  • Moderate to heavy drainage
  • A primary dressing on partial-thickness and full-thickness wounds
  • As a secondary dressing on full-thickness wounds, including:
    - Ulcers (pressure, venous, neuropathic/diabetic)
    - Postoperative wounds
    - First and second-degree burns

Recommended Secondary Dressings:

Optilock Absorbs And Retains More Fluid:

In laboratory testing, Medline OptiLock dressings outperformed a leading silicone-faced foam dressing. Remarkable absorption and fluid retention capabilities raise the bar for gentle wound care.

  • Absorption Capacity Under Compression

    Optilock's Absorption Capacity Under Compression

Optilock absorbs approximately three times more fluid than a leading silicone-faced foam dressing.

  • Fluid Loss Under Compression

    Optilock's Fluid Loss Under Compression

Optilock dressings retain substantially more fluid under compression than a leading silicone-faced foam dressing.

Change Frequency:

  • OptiLock may be left in place for up to 7 days
  • Dressing change frequency will depend on amount of drainage

It absorbs a remarkable amount of wound fluid even under compression and locks it away to help prevent maceration. This super absorbent dressing has a non-adherent facing that minimizes disruption to the wound and allows for gentle removal.

  • Absorbs - Super absorbent polymer core absorbs high volumes of exudate.
  • Locks - Exudate is converted into a gel that’s kept firmly away from the wound.
  • Adjusts - Continually adapts the level of absorption to the amount of wound drainage.
  • Protects - Does not stick to the wound or periwound skin.
