The heel is elevated by the contours of the boot and protected and cushioned by the fleece lined cover to prevent any pressure on the heel. An anti-rotation bar hidden under the fleece cover that can be used to control hip and leg rotation.

Why choose Comfy Boot?

  • All Comfy boots come with an Antimicrobial surface protector that creates an invisible shield against mold and mildew, stains, bacteria fungus and algae. This agent helps protect against skin breakdown and greatly reduces risk of infection and readmissions.
  • Ambulating Boot is for the patient who requires positioning but can also transfer and ambulate
  • Ambulating Boot has a rubber sole with non-slip surface that provides a walking base so patients can walk comfortably
  • Comes with a washable cover and an anti-rotational bar
  • Splint frame resists plantar flexion while providing a dynamic push to extension for the correction of foot drop, foot-ankle contractures and deformity
  • Adjustable toe post relieves pressure on the toes and adjusts to accommodate variation in foot sizes
  • Soft fleece lined cover wisks away moistures from the skin to maintain skin integrity
  • Allows heel to float thus eliminating pressure or friction on the heel and enhances blood circulation that is vital to healing
  • Rotator Bar can be positioned to the side to control hip and leg rotation

When to use Comfy Splint Boot?

  • Plantar flexion and non-fixed contractures
  • Heel pressure sores-by allowing heel to float
  • Spasticity and inversion or eversion
  • Rotation and tendonitis
  • Ankle sprains and stress fractures
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Ligament and tendon repairs

How to use Comfy Splint Boot?

  • Remove the comfy boot and open velcro closures. Write patient name on splint
  • Perform passive range of motion to ankle to allow for maximum range. Flex knee and place foot in splint
  • Close velcro fasteners for snug fit but ensure that heel of comfy boot is floating free
  • Adjusting the toe-posts: Loosen the knob on the bottom of the comfy boot. Position the toe post to extend beyond the toes, in order to protect the toes. Tighten the knob
  • For the individual who is lying on their side, the toe post can be positioned obliquely to minimize pressure on the side of the foot. Loosen the knob on the sole of the comfy boot and rotate the toe-tost. Re-tighten the knob
  • The anti-rotation bar may be used to position the foot for internal and external rotation. Loosen the knob on the back of the comfy boot and position the bar on the side to which the leg is rotating. Tighten the knob

We are checking on some for our Pediatric unit. Are the shoes different sizes or is it just Pediatric one fits a foot from 5" to 8" and you just adjust the size by making the top of the foot tighter.

Customer Care    04/09/2020

Please note that it is just one 'pediatric' size for the Comfy Boot that fits foot length range from 5" to 8".

Virginia Morris     12/28/2016

How often should you replace the boot and what pieces or the whole boot?

Customer Care    12/30/2016

How often the Comfy Boot will need to be replaced depends a lot on wear and care. Manufacturer guarantee the product for 1 year from purchase, but we know many end users use this for many years at a time. The cover is fully removable and machine washable (please remember to close Velcro before laundering). The inside plastic frame does sometimes begin to show signs of age after about 3 to 4 years, but again, can often be worn for longer than that depending use (like any shoe).

We hope this answers your question.

Customer Service    10/23/2015
