Ossur DH Offloading Walker Boot provides shear force reduction for diabetic plantar ulcers and enhanced stability with walking. The DH Off Loading Walker maintains a 90-degree stabilized ankle and foot position and has a patented active offloading insole that reduces pressure to improve the healing of active ulcers. It is designed with a wide low-profile rocker bottom that provides a smooth roll-through and increased stability for altered gaits.

  • Caution:
    - This product should only be used when prescribed by a physician 
    - Hexplugs should only be removed or altered when instructed by the prescribing physician 
    - Modifications to this product are to be made only under the prescribing physician orders 
    - All patients should be monitored closely 
    - Patients should be instructed to inspect their feet and this product before and after each use
    - This product was designed for plantar ulcer healing 
    - Wounds located at the beginning or the end of the gait path should be monitored closely to ensure that pressure relief is maintained 
    - If a patient displays poor compliance, the use of this product should be reconsidered 
    - Do not relieve too large of an area that may allow the ulcer to bottom out while weight bearing 
    - The DH Offloading insole should not be used in conjunction with any other walker or footwear device 
    - In order to prevent individual Hexplugs from falling into the relieved area, the corners of the Hexplugs lying on the perimeter of the relieved area may be trimmed (scythed) upon the prescribing physicians orders 
    - Do not remove the foam pads that are adhered to the Walkers frame 
    - If skin irritation of any kind develops or any other problem occurs with the use of this product, please immediately contact your medical professional 
    - Do not remove walker unless instructed by your physician 
    - Be sure to readjust the walker straps as necessary so that the Equalizer feels stable and comfortable 
    - This product has been designed and tested for single patient usage and is not recommended for multiple patient usage
  • Fitting Instructions:
    - Release contact closure straps #1,#2 and #5. Remove contact closure straps #3 and #4. Remove softgood
    - Do not remove the strut release strips at this time 
    - Place lower leg and foot inside softgood. Close the inner bootie snugly using the contact closures 
    - Close softgood snugly over the inner bootie using the contact closures on the softgood 
    - Insert the foot into the walker frame by gently spreading the vertical struts. Do not remove the strut release strips at this time 
    - Be sure the vertical struts are centered over the malleoli (ankle bone). Be sure the ankle is centered between the vertical struts 
    - Remove the strut release strips by pulling upward. This allows the softgood to be secured into position 
    - Remove foot from walker. Cover wound with material such as a transparent film dressing, tape, gauze, etc. Mark material with a transferable mark using iodine, lipstick, indelible ink pencil, etc 
    - Place foot inside walker. Ensure proper location of patients foot before transferring mark to Insole’s surface. Fasten walker softgood. Bear weight to ensure transfer of relief zone mark. After patient returns to a seated position, remove walker from foot 
    - Remove marked Hexplugs from insole
    Caution: This product should not be used, if the relieved area is too large and inhibits pressure relief by allowing the ulcer or wound to bottom out 
    - Scythe the edges of Hexplugs surrounding the relief zone with a cutting tool such as a scalpel or scissors
    Tip: To provide additional support, a transparent film dressing can be placed over the relief zone, or, a low-density foam can be used as filler inside the relief zone, no more then ½” (1cm) thick 
    - Reinsert foot into walker and secure the contact closures on the inner bootie and softgood. Fasten straps in the following order: #1,#2,#3,#4,#5. Caution: Do not pull straps too tightly as they can cause pain discomfort and /or lack of circulation
  • Washing Instructions:
    - Remove the entire insole from the walker. DO NOT REMOVE ANY ADDITIONAL HEXPLUGS 
    - Rinse the insole with 86F (30˚C) warm water. DO NOT USE A WASHING MACHINE. DO NOT USE ALCOHOL OR SOLVENTS TO CLEAN 
    - The insole should be air dried. To speed up the drying process, a hair dryer may be used at the lowest temperature setting. DO NOT REMOVE ANY ADDITIONAL HEXPLUGS WHEN DRYING. DO NOT USE A DRYING MACHINE 
    - Once the insole is fully dried it can be reinserted into the walker. Follow step 11, fitting instructions, to continue use. The appropriate instructions for use should always be followed when reinserting the DH Offloading Insole 
    - To clean the Equalizer walker frame, use a damp cloth and mild soap and 86F (30˚C) warm water. Hand or air dry only 
    - When prescribed, the softgood may be removed for hand washing, with 86F (30ËšC) warm water and mild soap. Air dry only

Össur warrants to the original purchaser that this product is free from defects in materials and workmanship.  This warranty does not apply if this product (1) was not purchased from Össur or its authorized dealer, (2) has been altered in a way, or (3) has not been used in accordance with Össur’s Instructions for Use (IFU).  This Limited Warranty does not cover damage due to accidents, neglect, misuse, or operation beyond capacity, parts damaged by improper installation, substitution or parts not approved by Össur, or any other alteration or repair by others that, in Össur’s judgment, materially or adversely affects the product or part.

The duration of this Limited Warranty varies by product, but is effective from the date of delivery to the purchaser.  Össur’s sole obligation under this Limited Warranty is to either repair or replace the product at no charge, or to credit purchaser’s account for the value of the defective product at Össur’s sole discretion.

Use of this product is not a guarantee against injury.

What is HPFY’s return policy?

Customer satisfaction is our top priority. We stand behind our products. If the merchandise you received is defective or not what you expected it to be, and you wish to return the item, please submit a return request in the My Account section of our website, contact our Customer Service department at (866) 316-0162 / (203) 616-2850 or email us.

  1. Merchandise must be returned within 30 days of the receipt of your order. Returns are not accepted after 30 days.
  2. Items (including parts and accessories) must be returned in new, unused, and resalable condition in its original packaging.
  3. Before returning any product, the buyer must obtain a Return Authorization Number (RA#) from a customer service representative. With your RA# you will receive a prepaid return shipping label.
  4. Orders returned without obtaining an RA# will be entitled to receive only "In-Store Credit" that can be used towards future purchases.
  5. Return orders are subject to a 20% restocking fees.
  6. All custom orders and hygienic items are non-returnable. Refer to the “Non-Returnable Items” section for further details.
  7. Returns will be reviewed and inspected before issuing credit. Please allow 3 to 4 weeks for processing. The credit will be applied to your original method of payment.
  8. If the return is the result of a defective product or shipping error, we will refund the entire purchase amount and return shipping costs.

Which products are Non-Returnable?

Due to the hygienic nature of some items, they are non-returnable. The items listed below are non-returnable:

  5. Besides these, items that have the “non-returnable” phrase on the website.

We reserve the right to make adjustments due to errors, changing market conditions, product discontinuation or typographical errors in advertisements. Images on the site may not always reflect the actual product. Footrests or leg-rests are not included with wheelchairs unless specified.

How do I receive a return authorization number?

You can submit a return request by logging into your account. You will receive the Return Authorization Number (RA#) details in the email within 2-3 business days.

If you do not have an email address, we will make other accommodations for RA# Details. Write the RA# on your label affixed to your package prior to shipment.

How long does it take to receive a refund?

Please allow 3 to 4 weeks to process the returns. Once the item is received, and inspected, your refund will be processed and automatically applied to your credit card or original method of payment.

Is there any Restocking Fees?

  1. 20% restocking fees will be applied.
  2. Outbound shipping cost is non-refundable.
  3. For orders that qualified for free shipping, $8.99 will be deducted from the refund if the product is returned.
