Omron Wide Range D-Ring Blood Pressure Cuff wraps around the arm for a more comfortable measurement. The long-lasting and contoured Wide Range D-ring cuff fits arms with circumferences ranging from 9 to 17 inches.
Use a cloth measuring tape and measure the circumference of your left upper arm, midway between your elbow and shoulder. Ensure that the tape is neither too tight nor too loose. Correct measurement of the cuff will help ensure the most accurate readings, providing you with a more accurate picture of your heart’s health.
A D-ring cuff is a standard type of blood pressure cuff. It is a cuff where the user loops one end of the cuff through a metal ring, then fastens it to the arm.
For every 5 cm increase in arm circumference, starting at 35 cm, a 2-5 mmHg increase in systolic blood pressure, and a 1-3 mmHg increase in diastolic blood pressure is observed.
The AHA recommends that the cuff be inflated to at least 30 mm Hg above the point at which the radial pulse disappears. The cuff should then be deflated at a rate of 2 to 3 mm Hg per second (or per pulse when the heart rate is slow)
The pulse rate, also known as the heart rate, is the number of times your heart beats per minute. A normal resting heart rate should be between 60 to 100 beats per minute, but it can vary from minute to minute.
