How to assemble Medela Pump In Style Advanced Breastpump?

1. Wash hands before touching breast pump, kit and breasts and avoid touching the inside of containers or lids.
2. Place your breast pump on a clean and dry surface. Ensure that the surface is solid and secure so your breast pump will not tip over or fall.
3. Securely attach breast shield to breast shield connector
4. Snap membranes onto valves until membranes lie completely flat on valve.
5. Push assembled yellow valves and white membranes onto the bottom of the breast shield connectors.
6. Screw bottles onto the breast shield connectors.
7. Insert the hard yellow adapter ends of tubing into the hole on the back of the breast shield connectors.
8. Double pumping: Insert the free ends of tubing onto both ports on the front of the breast pump faceplate.
9. Single pumping: Insert the free end of tubing onto one port on the front of the breast pump faceplate. Place the port cap over the unused port.
10. Plug the metal fitting on the end of the 9 volt power adaptor or Battery Pack cord into the power jack on the front of the breast pump faceplate.
11. Plug the 9 volt power adaptor into a standard electrical outlet.

How to care for Medela Breast Pumps?

• Separate parts for washing.
  • Wash breast pump kit parts after each use.
  • Take care not to damage parts of the pump kit during cleaning.
  • It is not necessary to wash tubing, membrane cap or protective membrane prior to fi rst use.
  • Only wash tubing if milk is present or tubing is soiled.
• Rinse all separated parts that came in contact with breast and breast milk in cool water in order to remove breast milk residue.
• Wash in sink with dedicated basin:
  • Once rinsed, parts that have touched the breast or breast milk should be placed in a clean wash basin, dedicated to only cleaning these items. Do not place parts directly in the sink.
  • Soak all separated parts in warm, soapy water for 5 minutes.
  • Wash each part with a clean dishcloth or soft brush.
  • Rinse all separated parts with clear water.
