How to Use 3M Surgical Drapes?

  • Prep and thoroughly dry lids and lashes
  • Unfold drape
    - Assistant to hold the lower edge taut, not touching the face
    -  Surgeon to grasp drape on the sterile surface with index fingers and thumbs
  • Position the edge of the aperture approximately 5 mm below the upper lid margin
    - Press on lashes and lid margin
    -  Draw, drag or pull the lid open
    - Secure adhesive by pressing down
  • Repeat with the lower lid
  • Adjust any lateral wrinkles in the drape
  • Assess exposure
  • Apply speculum
