The Dexcom G6 Sensor is FDA cleared for individuals age two years and older. It decreases the need for fingerstick testing and provides both customizable high and low alerts. It also provides you with actionable trend information that supports proactive diabetes management. The Dexcom G6 Sensor is waterproof and is to be worn for up to 10 days for accurate and continuous glucose monitoring.
Dexcom G6 Sensor is a small, thin device that is inserted just under the skin of the abdomen, back of the upper arm, or upper buttocks. It uses a tiny filament to measure glucose levels in the interstitial fluid (the fluid that surrounds cells) every five minutes. The sensor sends this data wirelessly to a receiver or compatible smartphone app, where you can view your glucose levels in real time. The Dexcom G6 sensor is FDA-approved for people with diabetes ages 2 and older. It is water-resistant up to 3 feet for 30 minutes, so you can wear it while showering, swimming, or taking a bath. The sensor can also be worn for up to 10 days, which is longer than many other CGM sensors.
