Comfy Adult Air Hand Orthosis is an exceptionally useful splint for the severely contracted hand. It features an adjustable air bladder that allows for gradual extension of the MP, DIP and PIP joints as well as an adjustable wrist for customized fit. The ingenious design simply inserts the un-inflated splint with the bladder under the fingers and then pumps air to inflate the bladder and increase finger extension.

Instructions to use Comfy Hand Air Orthosis

  1. Perform Passive Range of motion (PROM) to allow for maximal wrist and finger extension.
  2. Bend splint at wrist to the desired degree of extension. Do not remove insert from fabric cover, as all position can be done while the insert is in the cover. Place hand on splint, with fingers around the inflatable hand roll, thumb wrapped around under the hand roll.
  3. Place clear part of inflation bulb into clear valve at end of the inflatable hand roll. Squeeze the inflation bulb to inflate hand roll to achieve the desired degrees of finger extension.
  4. Once the desired angulations of the wrist and fingers are achieved, wrap the straps around the hand, wrist and forearm and secure with hook and loop tape. The strap across the fingers is bifurcated to go above and below the end of the hand roll to provide a more secure hold of the splint.
  5. To deflate the hand roll, simply place the black side of the inflation bulb into the clear valve of the hand rolls and squeeze the inflation bulb. This will remove the air from the hand roll.
  6. Check the ComfySplints™ Hand Air Orthosis every two hours for pressure areas, edema or skin irritation. If signs of redness, increased swelling or pain appear discontinue use and notify physician.

When to use Hand Air Orthosis?

This splint is to be used to position and support hands that present with Wrist, MP, PIP or DIP flexion pattern, ulnar deviation, wrist drop, arthritic changes or any deformity related to neuromuscular impairment.

Hand Orthosis Contraindications

The ComfySplints™ Hand Air Orthosis should not be used if the patient has any circulatory problems, pressure areas or skin irritations.

Fitting Instructions

The ComfySplints™ Hand Air Orthosis should be applied and fitted only by a trained professional. Fit and shape Orthosis according to patient’s requirements and as indicated in instructions. Check Orthosis fit and place two fingers under strap to ensure strap is not too tight.

Note : Check Orthosis at least every two hours until removed, to see if there are any problems such as skin abrasions, redness, blisters, or increased edema (if straps are too tight). With patients who have sensory deficits, the Orthosis should be checked more frequently.

Maintenance of Orthosis

The Cover of this ComfySplints™ Hand Air Orthosis is designed to be removable for laundering. The fabric cover can be washed by hand or by machine in lukewarm water. Do not use bleach or hot water. Air or tumble dry on cool or warm setting. Wiping both sides with a solution of warm water and detergent or with disinfectant can clean the bend-able white insert. If any of the metal frames becomes exposed, cease using the device.

What is HPFY’s return policy?

Customer satisfaction is our top priority. We stand behind our products. If the merchandise you received is defective or not what you expected it to be, and you wish to return the item, please submit a return request in the My Account section of our website, contact our Customer Service department at (866) 316-0162 / (203) 616-2850 or email us.

  1. Merchandise must be returned within 30 days of the receipt of your order. Returns are not accepted after 30 days.
  2. Items (including parts and accessories) must be returned in new, unused, and resalable condition in its original packaging.
  3. Before returning any product, the buyer must obtain a Return Authorization Number (RA#) from a customer service representative. With your RA# you will receive a prepaid return shipping label.
  4. Orders returned without obtaining an RA# will be entitled to receive only "In-Store Credit" that can be used towards future purchases.
  5. Return orders are subject to a 20% restocking fees.
  6. All custom orders and hygienic items are non-returnable. Refer to the “Non-Returnable Items” section for further details.
  7. Returns will be reviewed and inspected before issuing credit. Please allow 3 to 4 weeks for processing. The credit will be applied to your original method of payment.
  8. If the return is the result of a defective product or shipping error, we will refund the entire purchase amount and return shipping costs.

Which products are Non-Returnable?

Due to the hygienic nature of some items, they are non-returnable. The items listed below are non-returnable:

  5. Besides these, items that have the “non-returnable” phrase on the website.

How do I receive a return authorization number?

You can submit a return request by logging into your account. You will receive the Return Authorization Number (RA#) details in the email within 2-3 business days.

How long does it take to receive a refund?

Please allow 3 to 4 weeks to process the returns. Once the item is received, and inspected, your refund will be processed and automatically applied to your credit card or original method of payment.

Is there any Restocking Fees?

  2. Outbound shipping cost is non-refundable.
  3. For orders that qualified for free shipping, $8.99 will be deducted from the refund if the product is returned.
