PET CARE TIDBITS

MAINTAIN A HEALTHY WEIGHT

Overfeeding is the leading cause of obesity. Keeping our pets trim can add years to their lives.

REGULAR EXAMS ARE VITAL

Your pet can get heart problems, develop arthritis, or have a toothache. Prevent such problems or catch them early by seeing your veterinarian every year.

BE CAREFUL WITH TOYS

Never allow your pet to play with an object it can swallow or throw a stick for it to catch. Balls can get stuck in
the throat and sticks can penetrate the windpipe.

SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS

It’s a process that can be performed as early as 6-8 weeks of age. It lowers risk of certain cancers and reduces a pet’s risk of getting lost by reducing the tendency to roam.

PREVENT PARASITES

Because some parasite medications made for dogs can be fatal to cats, talk to your vet about keeping your precious pets worm-free, flea-free and safe.

EXERCISE YOUR PETS

Always exercise dogs within their capabilities. Several short walks a day may be better than one long one.
