How to use Disposable Bubble Humidifier?

  1. Wash hands and remove bubble humidifier from package.
  2. Unscrew lid and add water to the Maximum Level marking on the side of the bottle. Sterile, distilled or boiled water is recommended.
  3. Replace lid and ensure lid is screwed on tight.
  4. Attach bubble humidifier to oxygen source, i.e. flowmeter, concentrator, liquid tank.
  5. Test for leaks. Turn the flow to 6 LPM and block the outlet port on the bubble humidifier. An alarm should sound in 5 seconds or less. If not, check connections.
  6. Attach oxygen tubing to the outlet port and adjust flow to prescribed setting.
  7. Apply interface, i.e. nasal cannula or oxygen mask, to patient.
  8. If water level drops to Minimum level marking on bottle, add more water.

Bubble Humidifier Cleaning Instruction

  • Every 14 days, wash your bubble humidifier with warm soapy water.
  • Rinse thoroughly with distilled or boiled water.
  • Recommend replacing Bubble Humidifier every 30 days.
Note Tap Water Use: If using Tap Water in your bubble humidifier or rinsing with Tap Water after cleaning, wash the bubble humidifier every 3 days.

We just got this humidifier. It was working fine until today. Today it started cutting the oxygen off to the recipient. The machine was still running but no oxygen was coming out.
