Contraindications:

• Not for severe sprains, immediate treatment following fractures, or if rigid support is required
• Not for use directly over open wounds and infected areas
• May not be for people with circulatory problems
   

Precautions:

• If unusual swelling, skin discoloration or discomfort occurs, use should be discontinued and a healthcare professional consulted.
• The brace should fit snugly and comfortably without interfering with circulation.
• This brace is to be fitted initially by a healthcare professional who is familiar with the purpose for which it is prescribed. The healthcare professional is responsible for providing wearing instructions and precautions to other healthcare practitioners, care providers involved in the patient care, and the patient.
• After heating splinting material, always check its temperature before applying it to the patient.
   

Care and Cleaning:

• Prior to cleaning, remove optional stay and Gel Shell pad from brace and fasten hook closures.
• Hand wash in warm water (hot water may yellow the pad) and mild soap.
• Rinse thoroughly. Press gently to remove excess water and let it air dry.
• Be sure the pad is completely dry before reapplying it.
