• The NeoMed Enteral Only Extension Set incorporates safety connectors that help mitigate the risk of accidental connection of an I.V. system to the enteral system or the enteral system to an I.V. system.
• NeoMed Enteral Only Extension sets are Latex-Free and does not contain DEHP, or BPA.
• NeoMed extension sets are provided in a variety of configurations: Standard extension sets have one proximal and one distal enteral port.
• Enteral ports can be male or female.
• Bifurcated extension sets allow for medication or additional nutritional delivery without disrupting the feeding line.
• Bifurcated extension sets provide an additional proximal enteral port.
• Double bifurcated extension sets provide two proximal enteral ports and two distal enteral ports.
• Large bore extension sets facilitate the delivery of thicker (more viscous) nutrition.
• Extension sets with a drip chamber provide a visual indicator of nutritional flow.
• Sampling Straws allow for aseptic withdrawal and transfer of fluid from a container and are not designed to directly connect to an enteral feeding tube.

Indications of Neomed Enteral Extension Set

The Neomed Enteral Only Extension Set is indicated for use in neonatal and pediatric patients in connection with a nasogastric/orogastric enteral feeding tube to provide nutrition via nasal or oral gastric placements.

Contraindications

This device is NOT intended for I.V. use.

How to use Neomed extension Set with Clamp

1. Always follow physician's instructions for use of contents.
2. Wash hands thoroughly and use aseptic technique throughout process.
3. Remove extension set from packaging.
4. Verify feeding tube compatibility prior to use.
5. Attach Enteral Only Connector (inlet) to outlet of administration set. Attach extension set outlet to enteral only feeding tube.
6. Close slide clamp and plug all female hub’s until ready to use or when not in use.
7. Replace and maintain administration set in accordance to hospital protocol and not to exceed NANN or ADA guidelines of beyond 4 hours, as applicable.
8. Do not re-use extension sets. After use, dispose of device per hospital protocols and/or local or national regulations.

CAUTION!

• Do not wash and reuse extension set. It is intended for one time use only. Re-use of this device may increase risk of leakage or biological infection.
• When using bifurcated extension sets, always close slide clamp and plug female hub of bifurcated tubing when not in use.
