How to use this Surgical Dressing?

1. Open the sterile packaging and remove the dressing.

2. Remove the middle part of the release film and apply the dressing in the right position.

3. Remove the larger of the remaining films continuously while applying the dressing. Repeat for the smaller film and reposition if needed.

4. Finalize the application by stroking the full dressing area for maximal adherence.

Frequency of Change
Mepilex Border Post-Op Ag may be left in place for several days depending on the condition of the wound and the surrounding skin, or as indicated by accepted clinical practice.
Precautions:
- Mepilex Ag Dressing should be used under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.
- Do not use it on patients with a known sensitivity to silver or any other contents of the dressing.
- Mepilex Border Post-Op Ag may cause transient discoloration of the wound bed and surrounding skin. Frequent or prolonged use of this product may result in permanent discoloration of the skin
- In the event of clinical infection Mepilex Post-Op Ag does not replace the need for systematic therapy or other adequate infection treatment.
- Prior to commencing radiation therapy remove Mepilex Border Post-Op Ag if the product is present in the treatment area. A new dressing can be applied following treatment.
- Avoid contact with electrodes or conductive gels during electronic measurements, e.g. electrocardiograms (ECG) and electroencephalograms (EEG).
- Do not use Mepilex Border Post-Op Ag together with oxidizing agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide.
- Carbon black contained in the device may cause mild irritation and redness. Discontinue use if any symptoms develop.
- Other than saline solution or water, the interaction of cleansing agents in combination with Mepilex Border Post-Op Ag has not been demonstrated.
- The interaction of Mepilex Border Post-Op Ag with other topical treatments has not been demonstrated.
- For external use only.
- Do not reuse. If reused, the performance of the product may deteriorate, and cross-contamination may occur.
- Sterile. Do not use it if the inner package is damaged or opened prior to use. Do not re-sterilize.
- Do not use it after the expiry date. If the product is used after the expiry date product properties cannot be ensured.
