The port that hooks up to the catheter tube, is it a one way valve?  If a patient sleeps with the leg bag, is there the possibility the urine can travel from the bag and back into her body and increase environment for infection?
Sylvia Taylor - 4/25/2015 8:02:49 PM

Thank you for reaching out to us. All of the Medline leg bags and drain bags have an anti-reflux mechanism to avoid backup of the urine.

However, I would like to point out that leg bags typically wouldn’t be used as an overnight drainage bag. A 2000ml drain bag is what is usually switched over to before the individual goes to sleep.
