• Test prior to freezing:
  - In rare cases stored milk may develop an off odor. Fill 1 or 2 bags andfreeze for 24 hours as a test prior to storing significant quantities of milk.
• Thawing frozen breastmilk:
  - Place frozen breastmilk in a bowl or cup to prevent any liquid from escapingduring the thawing process. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight or in warmwater prior to feeding. Gently shake the container to blend any fat that hasseparated. Feed thawed milk immediately or store in the refrigerator fora maximum of 24 hours. CAUTION: DO NOT THAW FROZEN BREASTMILK IN AMICROWAVE OR IN A PAN OF BOILING WATER.
• To help prevent accidental leaks:
  - Ensure that the zipper on the bag closed properly.
  - If milk is trapped in the zipper, attempt to clean out the milk. Milk in the zipper may expand during freezing, causing a potential leak.
  - Handle bags with care once frozen. Be careful not to drop bags or have bags bang together.
  - Store bags in the upright standing position to prevent damage. Do not store bags lying flat or stacked on top of each other.
• Collecting Breastmilk:
  - Gently open the zip top closure.
  - Attach breastshield connector including valve and membrane toadapter by turning it until secure do not over-tighten.
  - Insert adapter into top of bag while holding breastshield connector.
  - Turn adapter and hook the tabs into the openings above the zipper.5. Attach breastshield to breastshield connector.
  - Attach tubing to breastshield connector.
  - Begin pumping. Do not fill the bag past the 150 mL mark.
  - When finished pumping, remove the bag from the adapter. Gentlysqueeze sides of bag to create space around the adapter. Push the adapter down and turn the adapter until tabs release fromopenings in bag.
  - The pleated bottom of the bag will allow it to stand up securelywhile you put away your pump. Clean off excess milk above thezipper. Flatten the bag above the milk to remove excess air, then zipto close.
• Note:
  - Breastmilk will expand as it freezes so do not overfill the bag. If bag is overfilled,the expansion of the breastmilk could result in a tear in the bag material causing a leak.
  - Pump & Save Breastmilk Bags are single use items. Dispose of bag after one use.
• Adapter Cleaning Instructions:
  - Prior to first use: Sanitize adapters in boiling water for 10 minutes.
  - After each use: Wash adapters in warm, soapy water. Rinse with clear water.Air-dry on clean towel and cover when not in use.
