When to use Comfy Dorsal Hand Orthosis?

The Comfy Splint can be used by people with:

• Wrist Drop
• Ulnar Deviation
• Arthritic Changes
• Neuromuscular Impairment
• MP, PIP or DIP Flexion Pattern

ContraIndications of Comfy Dorsal Orthosis

• Patient has circulatory problems
• Pressure areas or skin irritations appear
• Patient has increased edema, redness or blisters
• Patient has persistent pain in the wrist, fingers and hand

How to wear Comfy Dorsal Splint?

Fitting Instructions

• The hand orthosis should be applied and fitted only by a trained professional
• Apply and shape the splint according to the patient's requirements and exactly as indicated in the provided instruction manual
• After confirming proper placement, place two fingers under strap to ensure strap is not too tight

Wearing Tolerance

• Patient/Caregivers are advised to check the orthosis atleast every 2 hours until its removed, to see if there are any of the following problems:
  • Skin abrasions
  • Redness
  • Blisters
  • Increase in Edema (if splint is too tight)
• The above mentioned problems are to be checked more frequently in patients with sensory deficits
