How to clean and care for your Provox HME Adaptor?

1. Clean and disinfect Provox HME Cassette Adaptor before each use. Only use drinking water to clean and rinse the device.
   
2. Place Provox HME Cassette Adaptor in mild water-based soap for 15 minutes.
   
3. Rinse Provox HME Cassette Adaptor with water.
   
4. Disinfect the tracheostomy HME connector at least once a day with one of the following methods:
   • Ethanol 70% for 10 minutes,
   • Isopropyl alcohol 70% for 10 minutes
   • Hydrogen peroxide 3% for 60 minutes.
   
5. Let Provox HME Cassette Adaptor dry for at least 2 hours or until it looks dry.
   

Usage warning for Tracheostomy HME Connector by Atos Medical

• DO NOT use HME Cassette Adaptor on a single lumen tube (tube without an inner tube) unless the patient or caregiver is able to reinsert the tube themselves if they have to remove it in case of emergency.
• HME adaptor is for Single patient use only; reusing between patients may cause cross-contamination.
