Types of burns are:

  • First-degree burns that damage only the outer layer of skin

In case of first degree burns
  • Soak the wound in cold water.
  • Take an OTC pain relief medicine
  • Applying aloe vera gel or honey burn care hydrogel dressing
  • Using a burn contact dressing to protect the wound.

To treat second degree burns

  • taking over-the-counter pain medication (acetaminophen or ibuprofen)
  • applying antibiotic cream to blisters
