How to use Iodoform Packing Strip?

  1. Cleanse/irrigate the wound and peri-wound skin with sterile normal saline or a wound cleanser, dry peri-wound skin.
  2. Choose a packing width that will fit the cavity.
  3. Measure/cut the length of packing needed to fill the area lightly.
  4. For a wound cavity, fluff the gauze/packing strip and fill the cavity loosely.
  5. Cover the wound with an appropriate wound dressing.
