  • Birth control pills can be a trigger. Women may have migraines at the end of the pill cycle as the estrogen in the pill is stopped. This known as estrogen-withdrawal headache.
  • Smoking may cause migraines or interfere with their treatment. 

No, Migraines are seldom life threatening. Although they may be excuciating and may be harmful to a persons quality of life, may cause depression and anxiety disorders especially if the pain is uncontrollable with medicine and treatment.

Environmental conditions does not always affect people with migraines but weather conditions like Bright sunshine, hot, humid conditions, and drastic changes in barometric pressure may act as a migraine trigger in some cases.

OTC medications can help relieve pain. But you must cosult your doctor before taking any type of OTC medications.

Alternative therapies for migraines include aromatherapy or magnetic therapy. Aromatherapy oils like eucalyptus, lavender, peppermint etc. can help with migraines. Magnetic masks and head bands my also benefit people with migraines.
