Technical Features of iWALK2.0 Crutch

	Handle Gives user confidence and aids in initial learning. Often used for longer distances to improve efficiency.
	Quick-Release Buckles Quick release buckles allow you to quickly put on or take off the crutch. After basic proficiency is achieved, most people can don/doff the crutch in 10-15 seconds.
	Strap – Tighten / Loosen Section (on/off) Proper tensioning of the strap is essential to give you maximum control and safety.

  • The user should commit to follow instructions for Fitting and Use before first use

• Pre-injury Ability
  
  • The user must have average strength and balance
  • Pre-injury, User must walk normally without a limp, shuffle, etc.
  • Pre-injury, User must go up or downstairs without requiring a handrail for balance or support.
    
    
• Capacity
  
  • The user must be between 4’10” (147cm) and 6’6” (198cm)
  • User weighing 275 pounds (125kg) or less
  • Maximum thigh circumference (at top of leg) is 28” (71cm) or less.
  • The user must fall within the sizing requirements
    
    
• Other Requirements
  
  • User injury is to one leg only
  • User injury is below the knee
  • The user must bend the injured leg 90 degrees at the knee (casts and boots are ok)
  • The user must have full functionality in the uninjured leg

How to assemble iWALK 2.0?

1. Insert Upper Assembly tubes into Knee Platform
2. Tube fitting
   
   • Identify Right Support Tube by letter “R”
   • Push the silver spring head and insert Support Tube into Knee Platform. Keep downward pressure on Upper Assembly Tube while inserting. The user will be done when the silver spring head fills the hole in the Knee Platform. Hint – if spring does not fill the hole, wiggle the tubes until spring head pops out.
   • Test the connection! Simultaneously pull UP on the Upper Assembly tube while pulling down on the Support Tube. It must be impossible to pull them apart. Test both left and right connections.
3. Attach Lower Assembly to Knee Platform.
   
   • Press in spring head
   • Insert tube until spring head fills hole A.
   • Test connection. Grasp tube and pull down forcibly. Confirm tube is locked into Knee Platform.
4. Clamp Fitting
   
   • The clamp should be centered between ends of Support Tubes and centered on the slot as shown. If necessary, use screwdriver or similar to rotate Clamp into position.
   • Push ends of tubes to align Support Tube holes with holes in Clamp. Insert Clamp Bolt and thread onto Clamp Nut. Do not tighten yet.
5. Connect Thigh Supports to Handle
   
   • Insert Thumb Screws into slots in Handle
   • Raise Thigh Supports and thread Thumb Screws into the nuts located on the underside of Thigh Supports
   • Do not fully tighten. Ensure that Thigh Supports can rotate on tubes.

• Proper fit is essential
  
  • Foot Adjustment - Left or Right – The Foot must have the curved edge on the outside of user leg
  • Height - Confirm upper and lower leg height is correct
  • Tight - For stability and control, Straps must be very tight
  • Vertical Alignment - So important, and often overlooked. This is essential for proper balance and learning
  • Foot Position - The Foot of user iWALK2.0 must be approximately where user human foot would be.

• Capacity
  
  • User weighs over 275 pounds (125 kg) or is significantly overweight.
  • User upper thigh circumference (at the top of the users leg) is more than 28” (71cm).
  • The user does not fall within the sizing guidelines.
• Pre-injury Ability
  
  • User challenged by normal activities like walking, climbing stairs, etc.
  • The user cannot walk without an assistive device
  • User loses balance
  • the user must use the handrail to go up or down stairs
  • User do not have full use of uninjured leg
• Compliance
  
  • The user trying the iWALK2.0 itself, without following our fitting and use instructions first
  • Hint – It is easy to follow our instructions and do not go it alone.
• Other Requirements
  
  • The user cannot bend injured leg 90 degrees at the knee.

• Age Limits
  
  • If the user is elderly, iWALK2.0 might not be right for the user. Physical capabilities vary from person to person, especially as we age. We have learned that ABILITY LIMITS work better than age limits.
• Plus Size
  
  • Being significantly overweight will make it more difficult to adapt to the iWALK2.0, and in many cases, people with high body mass indexes cannot adapt to the iWALK2.0
• Diabetic
  
  • Diabetic foot ulcers are often accompanied by neuropathy and/or obesity. If either of these conditions is present, the ability to use the iWALK is unlikely.
• Below Knee Amputees
  
  • When a user cant uses permanent prosthetic iWALK2.0 is an effective daily living aid for below-knee amputees, Please note that user must have at least four inches of residual limb behind the back of the knee.
