Ringworm appears as a raised red circle rash with clear center. This infection typically attacks the skin but can also affect hair and nails and thrives in warm, humid environments. Ringworm can spread easily.  It is commonly found on towels and sports equipment which is why Athletes are at high-risk of contracting ringworm, especially those involved in contact sports.

  5. Apple Cider Vinegar: The itching and inflammation of a ringworm rash can be eased by mixing a ratio of 50% water and 50% apple cider vinegar. Apply to the ringworm rash and let dry. Once the mixture has dried on the skin, rinse off with clean water.
  6. Turmeric: Many arthritis sufferers take turmeric supplements to reduce inflammation. It also has antifungal properties which can help fight ringworm. Mix water and turmeric powder to make a paste. Apply it to the affected area and let dry. Once it is dry, rinse with clean water.

It is important to note that if the rash is not healing properly, becomes severe or is not improving, contact your doctor. Treat the infection until it is completely cleared. Ringworm can be difficult to treat and must be entirely healed before you are considered free from the infection and non-contagious.
