Frequently Asked Questions On Ankle Stirrups

Ankle Stirrups are usually recommended immediately after an ankle injury and throughout the recovery period. Ankle Stirrups are intended to prevent or treat acute ankle injuries, chronic instability, post-operative use and ankle sprains.

An ankle brace is used in case of:
  • High ankle sprains
  • Sub-acute ankle sprains
  • Chronic ankle instabilities

You should hand wash the brace with cold water and a mild detergent and allow it to air-dry. Application of a mixture of baking soda and a small amount of vinegar will keep the brace clean and help control odors.

If you notice any tearing of straps or seams that are coming undone, that’s an indicator that the brace needs to be replaced or if the fitting of the brace has become too loose or tight with time you must replace it.
