Keeping Seniors Safe During the Summer Heat
Check in on older neighbors who are alone, making sure they are in a comfortable temperature living space.
Make sure your senior friends and family members are getting enough to drink, to curb dehydration. Dehydration happens quicker as we age.
Be sure medications that are temperature sensitive are stored properly.
Ensure the proper attire is worn during the hot months, go for cool instead of fashion.
Exercise in the mornings or evenings to avoid the hottest part of the day.
Keep out of the sun, wear sunscreen, and a hat to keep cool and avoid sun damage.
