Winfield N-Interface Interpositional Surfacing Material is a protective membrane between the wound and outer dressings. When used as the primary wound contact layer, it prevents wound disruption due to the adherence by absorbent dressings, decreases wound shear and provides a window on the wound for visualization or cleansing and application of creams or ointments directly to the wound surface.

  • To help protect fragile epithelium, it may be left in place between absorbent dressing changes
  • It is placed between the wound and the outer absorbent layers to protect fragile epithelium by preventing dressing from adhering to freshly applied skin grafts or healing wounds. It is a nonabsorbent, translucent membrane. It works with most dressing systems and can be used with ointments, creams, wet soaks or commonly used medications.
