VACUETTE Venous Blood Collection Serum Tube With K2 EDTA are used primarily in hematology. The inner wall of VACUETTE EDTA tubes is coated with spray-dried K2EDTA. EDTA acts as an anticoagulant, binding the calcium ions and interrupting the clotting cascade. Samples can be collected, processed and transported in the primary tube which reduces exposure to blood borne pathogens, e.g. HIV, HCV, at the collection and sample processing sites.
