RDS Microchamber Aerosol Holding Chamber is for use with metered-dose inhaler products. It can be attached to a metered-dose inhaler in seconds, and can be easily detached for cleaning and drying. Microchamber ensures better delivery to lungs and decreases potential inhaler side effects. Purpose of Microchamber unit is to block and disperse the large aerosol drug particles released from the metered-dose inhaler, thus allowing the user to inhale the medication more effectively after spraying the MDI.

Technical Information:

Microchamber device is made of a durable polypropylene plastic material. The holding chamber and built-in screen blocks large aerosol medication particles that normally deposit in the mouth and throat while allowing the smaller treatment particles to pass through and into the lungs. This provides effective treatment and helps to reduce unwanted side effects. Microchamber delivery system ensures adequate coordination time with the spraying of Inhaler. How To Use Microchamber?

How To Use Microchamber?Remove the cap from inhaler.
How To Use Microchamber?Insert inhaler mouthpiece into Microchamber end.
How To Use Microchamber?Shake well 4 or 5 times.
How To Use Microchamber?Place Microchamber into mouth. Close lips.
How To Use Microchamber?Spray one puff from inhaler into the Microchamber.
How To Use Microchamber?Breathe in slowly and fully. Hold Breath for 10 seconds and repeat steps 3 to 7 as instructed by the doctor.


Cleaning Instructions:

  • With repeated use, powder will accumulate on the Microchamber screen and around the MDI valve
  • This may eventually interfere with effective use
  • We suggest washing the MDI mouthpiece and the Microchamber unit daily or at least once a week
  • Warm tap water passing through the back of the screen is best, followed by drying with a soft, lint-free cloth or leaving the Microchamber overnight to air dry
  • Dishwasher safe and Latex free

Does the chamber have a "one-way" valve?

The RDS Microchamber does not have a one way valve and offers less resistance than devices with one-way valve.
