More Information

  • Use Instruction:
ErgoSlide LT is used to transfer patients from one lateral surface to another. Using ergonomically inclined handles for gripping, caregivers can maneuver patients to the desired position without having to lift, which can cause injury to arms, back, and related muscles
  • Transferring a patient from a bed to a stretcher:
    - Obtain the number of caregivers required for the procedure. Ideally, there should be three caregivers but can be done with two
    - Explain procedure to patient being transferred or repositioned
    - Use good body mechanics throughout the procedure
    - Lock wheels of bed and stretcher; adjust to comfortable working height and lower head of bed. Make sure that the surface you are transferring from is even or slightly higher than the surface to which you are transferring. Minimize any gap between surfaces
    - When transferring a patient on the ErgoSlide LT, when possible, place a pillow under the patient’s head on top of the transfer tube for a more comfortable transfer
    - When transferring a patient the ErgoSlide LT is placed horizontally across the bed or stretcher with the patient’s head, torso, nd hips on the product. Place slide under patient by log-rolling the patient from side to side. The excess material is placed over the stretcher or bed to which the patient is being transferred
    - With 2 Caregivers: At a comfortable distance, without overextending, grab two handles located closest to the center of the slide. The other caregiver needs to hold the patient ankles up and take a side step with the movement of the transfer
    - With 3 Caregivers: Standing shoulder to shoulder, each caregiver should grab the set of handles closest to their end of the slide at a comfortable distance, without overextending. The third caregiver needs to hold the patient ankles up and take a side step with the movement of the transfer
    - Working in unison with partner(s) on the count of three, slide the patient to the desired surface. DO NOT LIFT
    - ErgoSlide LT can be left under the patient while being supervised during transfers throughout the facility but should remove once patient is returned to bed
    - Check to ensure patient is comfortable and safe
  • Note: Do not leave the ErgoSlide LT unattended under a patient in their bed at any time
  • Laundry: ErgoSlide LT can be machine-washed at 80°C/170°F. Hang to dry or tumble dry on low heat at 40°C/104°F
