Medline SilvaSorb Silver Antimicrobial Hydrogel Sheet Dressing harnesses the power of ionic silver, releasing silver at a controlled level for broad spectrum antimicrobial action, without harming tissue cells. The ionic silver is suspended in the SilvaSorb dressing to control its release over a period of up to seven days. It offers antimicrobial protection over a broad spectrum of bacteria and fungi, including MRSA and VRE. SilvaSorb kills microbes, but is completely biocompatible with the tissue cells of healing. SilvaSorb dressing is made of special polymer that absorbs more than five times its weight in fluid.

Questions & Answers

question image
what is the difference between the three different dressings?

Gretchen Newell - 8/28/2017 1:32:55 PM

Silver dressings are used in the treatment of burns and chronic wounds, particularly over wounds where the infection has set in leading to delayed healing. Antimicrobial dressings are effective in reducing risks of infection within partial and full thickness wounds, over percutaneous line sites and surgical incisions or across tracheostomies. And Hydrogel dressings help in healing damaged skin layers, veins and tissues.

can you use silvasporn on cuts on hands. The doctor put a butterfly band aid on it to hold it together but i thought the silvasporn would help it heal faster.  We have used it on other open wounds
Gwen Lebovitz - 9/23/2014 12:42:06 AM

Thanks for contacting us. Medline Silvasorb dressings are intended to drain light wounds, but are harmless if they are used on a small cut on the hand.
