More Information

  • Indications For Use
    - Use on the advice and prescription of a licensed physician to help relieve the symptoms of dryness of the throat, nasal passages and the mouth, which are common with positive airway pressure therapy
    - This is especially true in dry climates and during the cold season when humidity in the air is typically lower than at other times
  • Contraindications
    - Do not use the Heater Humidifier if your upper airway has been bypassed
  • Warning
    - Be sure to read and understand all safety instructions supplied with your IntelliPAP or SleepCube flow generator device
    - Always remove the water chamber from the humidifier cradle for filling
    - Use only tubing recommended or supplied with the flow generator
    - Do not attempt to fill the humidifier while it is attached to the humidifier cradle
    - Damage to the humidifier cradle may occur
    - Never touch the heater plate on the humidifier cradle
    - Never touch the heat transfer plate on the bottom of the water chamber
    - These plates can reach temperatures as high as 149°F (65°C) during operation
    - Do not operate the heater if the water chamber is empty
    - The heater plate may be turned off using the keypad heater control when being used without water
  • Controlling The Humidity
    - The heater setting can be adjusted in a range of 1 to 10
    - The optimum temperature setting is dependent on the ambient temperature and humidity of your room
    - If your room temperature is low and/or the relative humidity is high, then a lower temperature setting may be necessary to prevent excess condensation in the air supply tubing
    - If the room temperature is high and/or the relative humidity is low, then a higher temperature setting may be necessary for optimum comfort
    - The heater setting of 1 results in a heater plate temperature of approximately 84°F (29°C)
    - The heater setting of 10 results in a heater plate temperature of approximately 149°F (65°C)
  • Cleaning Instruction
    Water Chamber

    - Press down on the chamber release latch and pull out the water chamber from the cradle
    - Separate the chamber halves by pressing forward on the chamber disassembly lever and lifting the lid of the chamber
    - Remove the sealing gasket from the chamber lid
    - Wash the parts in a solution of warm water and mild dishwashing detergent
    - Allow the parts to dry before reassembly
    Humidifier Cradle
    - Turn off the heater and unplug from the power source. Allow the system to cool for at least 10 minutes
    - To detach the flow generator from the humidifier cradle, first remove the water chamber then fully depress the flow generator release button to separate
    - Use a soft damp cloth to clean the surfaces of the unit
  • Maximum Fill Level Tips
    - Do not fill the water tank above the maximum fill line
    - Damage to the humidifier or therapy device may occur. If the water tank is overfilled, water may leak out of the tank inlet (located on the back of the tank) when installing the tank lid
    - Use only room temperature distilled water in the tank. Do not put any chemicals or additives into the water
    - Possible airway irritation or damage to the water tank may result
    - Remove the tank, empty all water, and replace the empty tank before transporting the humidifier base
    - Do not attempt to fill the water tank while it is inside the humidifier
    - To avoid spilling, do not disconnect the humidifier from the therapy device with water in the tank
    - Remove the water tank from the humidifier before disconnecting the therapy device
    - Do not turn the humidifier on without the water tank installed
    - The Humidifier number setting must remain on 0 if there is no water in the water tank
    - The humidifier door must be set in the open position before removing the water tank
    - Do not remove the water tank without making sure that the humidifier door locks into the open position
    - Do not move the humidifier while the water tank has water in it
  • Important Note
    - If using the heated humidifier with the IntelliPAP series, the units cannot be operated from DC power. A modified sine wave inverter of at least 120VAC is necessary to power both the machine and humidifier from a DC power source
  • Bacteria Filter
    - A bacteria filter will not install directly to the air outlet port on the IntelliPAP Heated Humidifier. The filter is too bulky and there is not enough space
