How to Use of Deroyal Single-Strap Limb Holder?

• Wrap the deroyal single-strap limb holder around the patient’s wrist or ankle, ensuring that the cuff closure is on the outside of the device.
• Secure the hook and loop closure and if applicable, the buckle closure.
• Two fingers should fit between the device and the patient to ensure circulation is not compromised.
• Secure the strap(s) using quick-release ties or quick-release buckles depending on the style of the limb holder. Please refer to the step-by-step instructions for Quick-Release Ties and Quick-Release Buckles.
• For limb holders with two straps, the two-point attachment option is available. One strap can be attached near the head of the bed and the other strap near the foot of the bed using quick release ties or buckles.
• Secure excess strap away from patient’s reach

Warnings of Deroyal Single-Strap Limb Holder

• Improper application or use of any restraint may result in serious injury or death.
• Secure straps to a portion of the bed or gurney that moves with the patient. Do not secure straps to bed or gurney side rails.
• Keep straps out of patient’s reach. The patient should not be able to remove the device.
• Make sure bed or gurney side rails are up while the product is in use
• Check the patient regularly to ensure circulation is not compromised

Precautions of Deroyal Single-Strap Limb Holder

• This product is to be fitted initially by a physician (or properly licensed practitioner) who is familiar with the purpose for which it is intended.
• The physician or practitioner is responsible for providing wearing instructions and precautions to other healthcare practitioners or healthcare providers involved in the patient’s care as well as the patient.
• Consult your physician (or properly licensed practitioner) immediately if you experience sensation changes, unusual reactions, swelling, or increased pain while using this product.
• Follow the instructions of your physician (or properly licensed practitioner) for the length and duration of use.

Cleaning and/or Maintenance of Deroyal Single-Strap Limb Holder

• To clean, hand wash with a mild fabric detergent in warm water.
• Do not bleach. Do not iron.
• Lay flat and open and allow to air dry.
• Inspect the product after washing to ensure it is intact.
• If the product is damaged, do not use it and replace it with a new one.

Contraindications:

• Do not use on a patient who is or may become highly aggressive or agitated
• Never use on a patient if an I.V. Or wound site could be compromised by the device
