When to use Chattanooga Ultrasound Machine?

  • Soft tissue injuries

Contraindications of TranSport Ultrasound Unit

The Chattanooga Intelect TranSport Ultrasound Unit must not be used in the following conditions:

• This device should not be used for symptomatic local pain relief unless etiology is established or unless a pain syndrome has been diagnosed
• When cancerous lesions are present in the treatment area
• Open wounds are present in the treatment area
• When a patient is suspected of carrying a serious infectious disease
• Should not be used over or near bone growth centers until bone growth is complete
• Must not be used over the thoracic area if the patient is using a cardiac pacemaker
• Over a healing fracture
• Not to be used over a pregnant uterus
• Additional precaution should be used when the ultrasound is used on patients with the following conditions:
  • Over an area of the spinal cord following a laminectomy, i.e.,
  • When major covering tissues have been removed,
  • Over anesthetic areas or on patients with hemorrhagic diatheses
