All About Intermittent Catheters

By Taikhum Sadiq

Intermittent catheters are devices that are passed into the bladder to expel urine and then are immediately removed. The catheters are generally passed through the urethra. The urine is drained into a toilet/urinal, or into a drainage bag designed to connect to the funnel-end of catheter or into another receptacle. This process is called intermittent catheterization and is used to treat urinary retention which occurs when the bladder is unable to expel urine.

There are different types of intermittent catheters; some are preferred for home use while some are specifically designed for use while one is travelling.

We have a range of catheter options:

Straight Tip Catheters

Hydrophilic Catheters

Funnel End Catheters

Silicone Catheters

Coude Tip Catheters

Red Rubber Catheters
