Frequently Asked Questions On Essential Oils

Essential oils are the natural oils volatile in nature obtained by steam distillation or cold pressing (expression), having the aroma of the plant part from which it was derived.

You can use aromatherapy oils:

  • Topically – Some Essential oils can be applied on your skin, either neat (without diluting) or diluted in a carrier oil. Please make sure the oil is not harsh or toxic for the skin before application as some oils may be dangerous when applied directly to the skin.
  • Internally – Certain high quality essential oils are safe for internal use. Please read the label before use.
  • Aromatically – Diffusing essential oils in the air is a great way to get the benefits of essential oils. Find Diffusers at www.healthproductsforyou.com.

Carrier oils are used as a base to dilute essential oils before they are applied to the skin. Diluting essential oils is recommended when they are being used on children, pregnant women or with particularly strong oils like oregano.

Avoid contact of essential oils with sensitive areas such as eyes, ears, genitals, and mucous membranes with essential oils. If you choose to use the oil in any sensitive area, dilute 1 drop of the essential oil with 5–10 drops of carrier oil.
