How To Use Your Optihaler:

• Remove the blue mouthpiece cap. Always inspect the mouthpiece and inner chamber for foreign objects
• Take the MDI canister out of its plastic holder and shake the canister well
• Place MDI canister into the canister holder. The stem on the end of the canister fits into the canister post
• Make sure OPTIHALER is ready to use. The end cap should be tightly closed
• Exhale completely and put your lips around the mouthpiece. Begin to breathe in and while breathing in, press and release the canister (OPTIHALER is now in the open position.) Continue to breathe in until you have taken a full deep breath. Hold that breath for 8 to 10 seconds
• Remove OPTIHALER from your mouth and breathe out slowly
• If your doctor has instructed you to take more than one puff, wait one minute. Then, follow your doctor’s instructions and repeat steps 4 and 5. Be sure to reset OPTIHALER to the closed position, before each puff, by pressing in the end cap
• If you have difficulty pressing the MDI canister down, place the blue mouthpiece cap over the canister
• OPTIHALER has been designed to be truly portable. You can store your MDI canister inside the inner chamber. To store the canister, remove the end cap and place the MDI canister into the inner chamber, stem first. Replace the end cap back onto the main body

MDI Canister Compatibility:

• OptiHaler can be used with most currently available MDI canisters and, when not in use, an MDI canister can be stored inside

Cleaning:

• OPTIHALER Drug Delivery System should be cleaned several times each week. (The more medications you take, the more frequently OPTIHALER should be cleaned.) Take off the blue mouthpiece cap. Remove the end cap and slide out the inner chamber. Soak all the parts for 15 minutes in warm water with liquid detergent, agitate gently, then rinse with clean water and shake out excess moisture. Let all parts air dry thoroughly. OptiHaler can also be cleaned in the top rack of the dishwasher
