The Sunflower Sapphire 475 Mattress Overlay System sets a new standard for cost-effective treatment and prevention of pressure sores. It provides benefit to patients at risk or those suffering from pressure ulcers. The two principle components of this system are: a specialized air inflatable bladder (Air Mattress) and an electrically powered, air pump/control unit.

Pad is covered with an all-way stretch quilted nylon comforter specifically designed to prevent friction and shear
Air mattress is equipped with 2 air hoses and connectors that mate with control unit
Control unit is exceptionally quiet, user-friendly and attaches to footboard of most hospital beds
Air mattress is a specialized, multi-cell mattress sized to fit a standard hospital bed frame and serves to fit original mattress
Control unit hangs by retractable hooks on bed frame at foot of the bed
Control unit can be made to sit on floor under the bed
Distributes 8 liters of air per minute and alternating cycle time is 10 minutes
Control unit has one user-replaceable fuse near the filter rated at 250V, 1.0Amp
